Welcome to Gman Reviews. I am going to do something different and do a Sound of Freedom review. This review is going to be spoiler-free and is mostly going to talk about my experience with the movie.
Now I am sure that most of you have seen the hype around this movie but for those of you who haven’t heard of it, the movie is about the story of Tim Ballard who while working for Homeland Security Investigations going after paedophiles ends up trying to reunite a family whose children were stolen to be used in a child sex ring.
Now the thing that motivated me to see this movie was the story around this movie and the fact that many media sites and TV stations appeared to have slandered the movie and it was difficult for Angel Studios to get this movie released which was strange.

My Experience with Sound of Freedom
Now I have to say that as much as I like the movie it was kind of a traumatic experience watching it because I knew it was based on a real story. At times in the movie especially the parts showing cruelty towards the kids I found it quite harrowing to watch through.
In fact, during those parts, I was breathing so deeply to try to calm myself down by instinct that I believe I was freaking out the other person sitting to the right of me as I was sitting on the edge of my row.
But enough about the experience it’s time to talk about the review.
The Acting
The acting in this movie was spot on from the bad guys to the good guys to the children.
The movie tells the plight of the children well especially the look of hopelessness on their faces after they find out what happens to them by the bad guys who inflict cruelty on the children and actor Jim Caviezel who plays Tim Ballard talks about the effect the job is having on him.
The movie obviously deals with one of the most uncomfortable topics imaginable but the way the acting was done made it believable in the sense of the outright cruelty of how the world can be and the shock of the Tim Ballard at it.
The movie paints this vast divide between the good guys and the paedophiles, and it would be interesting if there was a follow-up movie to explain how these paedophiles end up being the way they are and how they could inflict such barbarity on children.
Should you watch Sound of Freedom?
You should watch this movie because it needs to be watched because after watching the movie I found out there are more children in slavery today as sex slaves than slaves at any other time in history so I think you should watch this movie.
But for the faint of heart and those with a timid personality I might read the book which has the Kindle version available in both Spanish and English I have to say I am glad I watched the movie, but it didn’t feel like just watching a regular movie because of the subject matter and because it was based on a true story.
Conclusion
The Sound of Freedom is a solid movie with awesome acting touching on a story that it appears the mainstream media wanted to suppress for a long time so you should probably watch the movie while you can, but I understand if you decide to give this movie a skip.
If you can stomach watching it it is an awesome movie. I hope this Sound of Freedom review explains the movie well and if you have any questions or any other topics you’d like to add please send me an email via the Contact Us page.
